Curtiss-Wright rugged, secure data storage systems offer a proven solution for retrieving, archiving and processing mission data, digital video and intelligence in real time to support ground force operations.
These compact, transportable network attached storage systems are qualified for applications that require sharing of critical data in harsh ground mobile environments. They are ruggedised to withstand extreme shock and vibration seen in combat vehicle applications, which also include extreme temperatures ranging between -40° to 71° C.
Our storage products are qualified to MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461 environmental specifications. Our experience and proven track record for deploying reliable electronic subsystems on the US Army’s Abrams, Bradley and Stryker platforms over the past two decades has contributed to the design of our ground data storage products.
Curtiss-Wright’s storage systems offer affordable, high-capacity and high-performance network attached storage. Our units are optimised for Size, Weight, Power and Cost (SWaP-C).
Our Compact Network Storage (CNS) product is the ideal solution for network centric storage in rugged ground applications.
The CNS provides a Giga-bit Ethernet (GbE) interface, allowing storage to be shared with hosts on the vehicle network and supports the new US Army VICTORY standard for interoperability. It supports file sharing across multiple protocols and has encryption capabilities to protect critical data.
The secure Networked Attached Storage (NAS) system also supports drive duplication for easy backup of stored data. The rugged unit is designed to operate with typical 28VDC military vehicle power and is MIL-STD-1275D compliant supporting normal, generator, and vehicle cranking conditions.
Our storage product portfolio for the ground market also includes a 3U VPX Flash Storage Module (FSM), which can easily be integrated in a vehicle platform’s mission processor unit.
The VPX3-FSM is a rugged, high-performance, high-capacity, solid state SATA storage Line Replaceable Module (LRM) that supports a 2-level maintenance concept. The FSM includes a NIST certified FIPS140-2 data encryption capability and currently has a 1TB storage capacity.
