
Leidos has appointed Adam Clarke as the new chief executive officer (CEO) of its UK and Europe operations to drive strategic growth and innovation.
He steps into the position following Eric Freeman, who will assist with the handover before his return to the US.
Leidos Commercial & International Sector president Vicki Schmanske said: “Adam’s focus on programme excellence and strategic growth aligns perfectly with our vision for our UK team.
“I am confident Adam will help foster our culture of innovation and leverage our global talent to deliver defence logistics modernisation and enhanced mission software to accelerate customer success.”
Clarke, who will assume the role on 31 March 2025, comes with a background spanning more than two decades in the aerospace, defence, and security sectors.
His previous tenure includes serving as managing director for Leonardo’s helicopter segment in the UK, along with various high-level roles such as director of strategy and competitive analysis in the company’s electronics division.
Headquartered in in Reston, Virginia, Leidos employs 48,000 people globally including 1,200 across the UK.
Leidos UK & Europe partners with the UK and Scottish governments. It supports a range of programmes including national security, defence, logistics, transportation, and energy.

In February 2025, Leidos named Jason Albanese to corporate executive vice president and chief growth officer.
Leidos recently transitioned its Support Chain Integration Platform, used by the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD), to the Amazon Web Services cloud.
In 2024, Leidos Holdings reported 8% increase in revenue to $16.66bn and net income of $1.251bn, or $9.22 per diluted share, up 501% and 540%, respectively.
Net bookings totalled $23.4bn for the fiscal year 2024 and backlog was $43.6bn.
