With over 60 years’ experience, Land Rover provides armed forces around the globe with light 4×4 vehicles designed to meet a wide range of defence and peacekeeping roles. Based on the proven Defender platform, several configurations are available across three wheelbases to suit a variety of roles. With over 55,000 in service with more than 35 defence forces, the Defender is the answer to almost any military requirement, including bespoke one-off solutions.
The Defender 110 GS 12v Military Vehicle forms the basis of the Defender military range. It is available in Soft Top, Hard Top and Station Wagon form having, as standard, a range of military features demanded by our customers such as blackout lighting and convoy light, NATO tow hook and 12-pin trailer socket and JATE lifting/ towing/ lashing rings for air-portability, It meets EU4 emissions while being able to run an all NATO fuels.
Building on the GS specification, the Defender 110 12/24v FFR is the ideal platform for the Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C4i) role. Additional features include 280 amps electrical system, 3 x12v glass mat air-portability gel batteries, 24v power terminal box with ammeter, radio suppression bonding leads and full EMC suppression of complete vehicle to Def Stan 59.411 Class A/Mil Std 461F, air conditioning and ABS brakes with Electronic Traction Control.
On display in Paris (on stand no. F141) are:
- The new Defender110 12/24v FFR Hard Top (to UK MOD specification)
- A Defender 110 12/24v Utility Station Wagon FFR configured for an Operational Logistics Reconnaissance role (as recently supplied to NATO CJTF)
- A Defender130 Double Cabin Pick Up with under-body ballistic protection, designed for a mobile information role with the French Armed Forces
At DVD (stand no. OR12/13), we will be showing the FFR Hard Top, a 12v General Service version of the 110 Utility Station Wagon and a 12v General Service 130 Double Cabin HCPU with a full Roll-Over Protection System and GRP cabin roof.
On our stand at DVD, we will also be displaying examples of the latest Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Discovery and Freelander. Land Rover Brand Ambassadors will be on hand to explain the vehicles’ features and benefits and to handle enquiries from Armed Forces personnel who may be able to purchase a Land Rover vehicle for themselves at advantageous prices.
