Iveco Defence Vehicle has held an industrial day to provide information and present opportunities for potential suppliers and partners that are interested in cooperating with Iveco in the light of the future project for the procurement of number of different variants of utility vehicles and trucks for the Dutch MoD.

Approximately 30 business professionals from 20 different companies from a number of sectors ranging from mechanical, electronic, engineering, metallurgic and logistic support automotive, have participated in this initiative. A representative of the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs also attended the event.

The day was organised in order to promote an exchange if information and the acquisition of knowledge related to the company/product/offset programme through different presentations.

The first presentation made by Flavio Marchesoni, S&M director of Iveco Defence Vehicles introduced Iveco and its defence division, highlighting the company’s international presence and its excellent sales results in the military sector with turnover doubling over the last 10 years.

Gabriele Cella, LMV project executive, presented Iveco DV’s line-up of multirole, armoured and tactical and logistic vehicles, with a specific focus on the LMV, which was on display in the building. The last presentation made by Iveco DV’s offset manager, Mauro Gagliano Candela, provided information about defence offset and specifically on the Dutch offset programme.

Outsourcing may concern the design and development of equipment, maintenance and support, facets such as the provision of raw materials, pre-production, transport,
equipment manufacturing and integration. Special emphasis was put on explaining the procurement strategy of the company, highlighting other offset programmes in which Iveco DV is currently involved or which
have been successfully performed by the company.

After the presentations, representatives of the companies participating in Iveco’s industry day, had the opportunity to ask questions on aspects related to the LMV and Iveco’s military trucks.
