For the first time, the All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) division of Phoenix International Systems, Inc., is offering its Prowler RTV to the US homeland security communities. The Prowler is being introduced to security, law enforcement and emergency response personnel at federal, state and local levels at the combined GovSec, US Law and Ready! 2007 Conference and Exposition being held this week in Washington, DC.
Introduced to the military in 2002, the Prowler RTV is in use worldwide by US military forces which require an internally transportable vehicle platform that offers the exceptional reliability, stability, endurance, speed, power and unique operator protection of the Prowler. The Prowler is purpose built to meet these requirements and designed to be easily configured as a platform for perimeter patrol, surveillance, reconnaissance and/or logistic support.
“Specific requirements for the unique capabilities of our rugged terrain vehicle and an increasing demand by certain elements of the Homeland Security community have convinced us to make our purpose built military platform available. This offering will provide a vehicle with unmatched versatility and reliability to meet the needs of US law enforcement, emergency responders and security operations,” said Amos Deacon, Phoenix International’s CEO.
The Prowler RTV, known for its ability to perform in any terrain or climate with unparalleled agility, features include:
- Powerful four-stroke, liquid-cooled engine
- Fully automatic four-wheel-drive transmission
- Low center of gravity, tight turning radius and high ground clearance
- Front and rear extended range independent wishbone suspension system
- Automotive-style controls and engineering for minimal maintenance
