Ocean Software has been contracted by Pilatus to supply FlightPRO® and TAMS® to the Spanish Air Force. These software tools will provide an essential management and coordination capability for the Spanish Air Force to manage its new fleet of Pilatus PC-21 training aircraft at San Javier air base, Spain.
This is the first contract between Ocean and Pilatus, however Ocean’s industry-leading operations and training software, FlightPRO®, together with its airspace coordination and booking system, TAMS®, will be on offer to support other Pilatus customers globally.
Dubbed ‘The Ultimate Training System’, the PC-21 aircraft, together with the Pilatus Ground Based Training System (GBTS), is the next generation training package which many air forces have chosen as their pilot training system. The GBTS is a suite of training devices and solutions providing first class pilot training, covering all aspects of learning required to graduate pilots onto front-line types. Ocean is proud to be associated with such a prestigious aerospace company with a pedigree in pilot training spanning 8 decades.
FlightPRO® can manage every aspect of pilot training, including the scheduling of live training on the PC-21 aircraft, simulators, part-task trainers, classrooms, and other related ground-based resources, together with all syllabi and related course content. Furthermore, the TAMS® software, fully integrated with FlightPRO®, can enhance flight safety by providing an airspace booking, coordination and deconfliction capability.
Shaun Mitchell, CEO Ocean Software, said, “A key requirement for Pilatus was to ensure efficiency in the delivery of training to the Spanish Air Force. FlightPRO® and TAMS® ensure all aspects of training are optimised in the most efficient and safest way possible.”
“FlightPRO®’s ability to balance and prioritise complex tasks, while simplifying the dynamic environment of military pilot training, will ensure all business processes and training output requirements are achieved.”
Hans Brunner, Director of Programme Management for Government Aviation at Pilatus, added,
“Pilatus was very pleased to work with Ocean in delivering their comprehensive software to the Spanish Air Force. We are very confident in its ability to support the new Integrated Training System at the Spanish Air Force Academy.”
Ocean Software is the leading operations and training management software system provider, supplying 14 air forces globally.
