The new six-channel rotary joint for air traffic control (ATC) radars supplements the product portfolio of SPINNER.

The result of this work is a non-contact six-channel rotary joint for antennas using the frequency range of S-band and L-band, the primary (PSR) and secondary (SSR) surveillance radar frequencies.

The rotary joint is characterised by excellent power transmission capability.

This six-channel ATC rotary joint includes slip rings and encoders. To be able to achieve the superior system performance, very low insertion loss, VSWR and high isolation values for the rotary joint are necessary. These outstanding electrical properties are the result of years of design experience, careful development, top-quality materials and high-precision manufacturing.

Realised in a non-contacting design which guarantees a lifetime of more than 50mm revolutions, the rotary joint is characterised by excellent power transmission capability of 35kW peak and 3kW average.

Amongst our three and six-channel portfolio of rotary joints for primary and secondary surveillance radar antennas, SPINNER offers a whole range of ATC rotary joints with slip rings and encoders.
