Hotzone Solutions Group successfully concluded the pilot course on nuclear emergency training (NET) in Slavutych and the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, Ukraine.
The course was held from 26-30 September 2011 and comprised of a set of lectures, given by experienced staff from the International Chornobyl Center and Hotzone Solutions.
The course focused on radiation principles, the causes and consequences of nuclear power plant accidents (Chernobyl 1986 and Fukushima 2011) as well as practical training in the Chernobyl exclusion zone.
Radiation protection, detection, decontamination and sampling were trained under safe conditions in a real environment, enabling participants to gain confidence in their equipment as well as in relevant operational procedures.
This course is unique as it gives the participants extremely valuable insight in the consequence management of nuclear accidents.
Hotzone Solutions will run five courses of five days’ duration in 2012, from May until October. Due to the nature of the training, we can accommodate up to 12 participants per course and pre-registration is possible via net@hotzonesolutions.com.
