Bertin Technologies, a European industrial group dedicated to high-end instrumentation for critical and scientific applications, announced the acquisition of Grenoble-based ALPAO, one of the world leaders in adaptive optics.

ALPAO will henceforth be known as Bertin Alpao. On July 11, 2024, the Bertin Technologies group finalized the acquisition of the Grenoble-based company, a pioneer in adaptive optics. ALPAO supplies cutting-edge systems and components to improve image quality in demanding environments. Its recognized expertise joins that of Bertin Technologies, marking a new milestone in its development and consolidating the group’s position in the photonics market.  

Bruno Vallayer, president of the Bertin Group, commented: “With the acquisition of ALPAO, we are adding a very attractive activity to our photonics offering, in particular by strengthening our expertise in the astronomy and space sectors. The products developed by ALPAO are already referenced by numerous customers.
