Spekon has been a manufacturer of high-quality military and sports parachutes for more than 70 years. Being one of the leading military parachute manufacturers in the world, the company also produces other special textiles for different applications, such as technical textiles, soldiers’ personal equipment, and long-term, humidity-controlled dry-storage systems.
In addition to manufacturing capabilities, Spekon is also involved in R&D, design, testing and trade. In each of these processes, we use the highest technology, years of experience and our extensive know-how.
Troop, emergency, cargo and custom parachutes
Spekon’s products include not only troop, emergency, cargo and custom-based parachutes, but also a wide range of related products, such as aviation mortar parachutes, drag chutes, helicopter cargo nets, helicopter under-slings, AC seat containers, AC nets and AC safety belts; soldiers’ equipment including rucksacks, bags and hip belts; and long-term humidity-controlled storage systems and special textile solutions for different applications.
We offer complete solutions for military customers. Our parachutes are preferred by MoDs and gliders due to their high reliability, good quality, successful design, comfortable use, reasonable prices and on-time delivery. Due to the company’s design capability, Spekon is a qualified partner for customers who are looking for customised parachutes and other textile products based on specific preferences and needs.
Spekon’s main clientele are in the aviation and military sectors, including governmental organisations (such as MoDs), police procurement units, EADS, and defence companies. Export activities are running in 30 countries worldwide, including NATO countries.
Troop parachutes
We have re-designed our RS troop parachutes in order to offer specific solutions for different and individual conditions. We now offer a modular system of troop parachutes based on standardised harnesses, deployment bags and pack trays combined with individually different canopies.
Our steerable, manoeuvrable and non-steerable troop parachutes show excellent performance, such as slow rate of descent (16ft/s), high load capacity and perfect comfort.
Due to our special design it is possible to have safe jumps even under complicated meteorological conditions where other parachutes are subject to grounding. We can service customers’ individual requests.
Accuracy parachutes
Spekon’s accuracy parachutes have long been renowned for providing excellent performance. A special design allows low rate of descent and direct reactions without timely delays.
Jumpers equipped with Spekon class RL accuracy parachutes have won more than 40 medals at military and civilian world championships. At the CISM 2003 and 2007 military world championships, the German national team doubled its previous accuracy in the team competitions by using the RL-16/3.
Free-fall precision parachutes
For military applications of our accuracy parachutes, we offer precision parachutes, which have a special configuration. The military significance of free-fall parachutes with high accuracy has recently significantly increased.
Dry storage system for military equipment
We supply a cost-effective dry storage system for military equipment and any kind of technical equipment, such as tanks, trucks, parts of aircraft or helicopters, and all kinds of spares. Equipment is stored under controlled humidity conditions with the minimum of maintenance and manpower for long periods.
The integrated dehumidifier enables optimum storing condition between 40%-50% relative humidity. Different systems in standard sizes are available for outside or inside installation. Customised solutions are possible.
Military parachute equipment
We aim to supply complete packages and services and a full set of compatible items for your military parachute, according to customers’ specific requirements and requests.
We co-operate with qualified partners to offer necessary equipment for paratroopers from top to toe. In addition to the parachute, our programme includes additional equipment like cargo bundles, weapon bags or oxygen systems, but also paratroopers’ personal equipment, such as jump suits, helmets, gloves and altimeters.
We also provide maintenance services, and training to qualify the customer to use the supplied hardware.
Helicopter under-sling transportation of military cargo
We offer several systems for helicopter under-sling transportation of military cargo. Different systems are available for payloads up to 2,500kg, up to 6,000kg and, as a helicopter outdoor net, up to 9,000kg.
