Klinge Corp will be showcasing their Dual Refrigeration Systems for the transport of dangerous chemicals at the Council on Safe Transportation of Hazardous Articles (COSTHA) annual forum at booth 201.
Established in 1972, COSTHA promotes regulatory compliance in the transport of dangerous goods. The association provides members with the resources needed to stay up to date on regulatory trends and practices and helps them understand the potential impact for their companies.
As part of their services, COSTHA holds an annual forum that is designed for the exchange of ideas and best practices between industry leaders, enhancement of understanding on dangerous goods transportation compliance, and access to the latest products the dangerous goods transport industry has to offer.
Klinge Corp joins nearly 30 leading suppliers in the hazardous materials / dangerous goods industry to launch and promote their latest innovations. Klinge Corp will be featuring their Dual Refrigeration System which is used by major chemical companies around the world to transport their dangerous chemicals.
Klinge’s Dual Refrigeration Systems has two full capacity reefer units. The reefer unit automatically switches to its back-up in the case of a loss of performance to provide the ultimate peace of mind when shipping dangerous cargo.
The Dual Refrigerated Container System also includes an integral generator set to ensure complete and independent protection of the cargo. The self-powered generator set powers the refrigeration units in case of loss of external power supply or during transport on a truck.
As an added fail-safe, Klinge Corp offers temperature recording and satellite communication. The satellite communication program remotely monitors and tracks cargo temperature, running condition, alarm status, fuel level in running hours remaining, and power source in near real-time.
The reefer units and integral genset can be mounted to a 20in ISO container or 40in ISO container.
The International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code (IMDG) was established as an international guideline for safe transport and shipment of dangerous goods or hazardous materials on sea-going vessel. The IMO stipulates that the temperature of certain organic peroxides and self-reactive substances are to be controlled in redundant refrigerated units with back-up generator set.
Klinge Corp’s Dual Refrigerated Container with two refrigeration units, integral power supply, explosion-proof fittings, temperature measurement, and easy access meets the requirements set forth in the IMDG Code for Class 5.2 organic peroxides and 4.1 self-reactive substances.
For nearly 30 years, Klinge Corp has provided redundant refrigerated containers to leading companies in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry. The dual systems have been used to transport chemicals, ice core samples, and other temperature-sensitive or highly valuable cargo.
