Medical Coaches, a worldwide leader and manufacturer of highly specialised mobile vehicles, recently delivered two 53ft custom mammography and women’s health screening trailers to the Alberta Cancer Center in Alberta, Canada. The mobile semi-trailers were funded as part of a community service project called “Weekend to end Breast Cancer Walks” in Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Montreal, Ottowa and Toronto.
The new coaches will benefit thousands of women in the fight against breast cancer with routine screening in rural areas of Canada where the service would not always be available. The five-year survival rate for breast cancer in its earliest stages is 97%, while at later stages it is just over 23%. By bringing these services to disadvantaged and underserved populations in rural areas, Alberta Cancer Foundation will help to reduce the number of cancer deaths that occur every year. The Alberta Cancer Foundation will serve over 100 plus locations with the two new screening trailers from Medical Coaches.
The Twin 53ft coaches come equipped with hologic dimension digital mammography systems, patient education and waiting areas with high-definition television, fully equipped laboratories, custom cabinetry, on board generator, and patient lift gate. It is truly a modern hospital screening office on wheels.
