In March 2020 HTS tentiQ’s partner was commissioned to provide emergency tents for the health and welfare of the homeless in Lima, Peru, during the COVID-19 lockdown.
One of the oldest bullfighting arenas in Latin America was chosen as the location for this vital refuge for the city’s homeless.
The structures needed to provide over 1,000m² of covered, secure, temperature-controlled space that could accommodate 150 beds and the required number of health care personnel tending to the occupants.
The rapid deployment emergency tents supplied by HTS-tentiQ were as follows:
- 1 x L-Series multi-purpose hospital tent
- 00m wide x 50.00m long x 5.2m high to the eaves
- Engineered to 149 km/h wind load and 45 kg snow load
- 4 x ABZ Inflatble Tents
- All installed in just two days
The L-Series multi-purpose tents are the ideal solution when fast, emergency cover is needed over a large area.
These structures are engineered from a lightweight but strong aluminium frame making them easy and quick to deploy globally and fast to install onto existing ground. They are equally easy to dismantle and remove, leaving no evidence of their existence.
For additional, separate space, the 4 x ABZ Rapid Deployment Inflatable Tents are ideal – having proved themselves in humanitarian and military field camp situations the world over. They are extremely lighweight and easy to transport (usually on just one pallet) and incredibly easy to set up, taking about 5 minutes by 1 or 2 people.
The completed center will provide much needed refuge, food and healthcare for the homeless, ensure the expert care for them should they become ill and also help control the spread of COVID-19 throughout the nation’s capital.
