Gichner Shelter Systems, a division of Gichner Systems Group LLC, and a world leader in the design, development and production of tactical and logistic shelters and shelter systems announced today that it has been awarded a delivery order to provide 67 additional shelters to the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division.
This delivery order, valued at $2,524,563.03 calls for the delivery of 17 Mobile Facility Type A, 23 Mobile Facility Type B, 17 Side Opening Mobile Facility Type A, 5 Side Opening Mobile Facility Type B, and 5 Mobile Facility Integration Units. Delivery will begin in November 2005 and will be complete by early 2006.
This Delivery Order is one of 13 that have been awarded under a 5-year requirements type contract originally awarded to Gichner in June 2000. This Delivery Order will increase the total number of shelters ordered on the contract to more than 300 at a total value of $17.3 million, and comes within the last two months of the contract.
Gichner Shelter Systems has produced more than 8000 of these shelters under numerous contracts with the US Navy and various prime contractors. A new Navy solicitation for these shelters should be released in the next few months.
