AAR has been awarded a contract by the Army Contracting Command-Rock Island (ACC-RI) to provide the Petroleum Quality Analysis System-Enhanced (PQAS-E) Shelters. The five-year, firm fixed price (FFP) IDIQ contract is valued at more than $5m.
The battlefield-ready PQAS-E is a mobile fuel-testing analysis and certification laboratory based on AAR Mobility Systems’ proprietary 20ft ISO shelter design. The aluminium, lightweight, ruggedised shelter was rigorously tested and approved for adverse conditions, weight limitations, ISO construction standards, and Electromagnetic Impulse Shield (EMI) Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) stability by the army. The shelter will be integrated with equipment at Rock Island Arsenal and be capable of testing virtually any fuel for air and land mobile forces prior to use.
“As a Total Solution Provider, we are leveraging our proven shelter technology to meet the needs of today’s warfighter,” said Mark Platko, General Manager, AAR Mobility Systems. “This contract validates our ability to customise our products to address a wide range of missions.”
As with all of AAR’s rapidly deployable containers and shelters, this shelter will be customised to meet mission requirements and include three different sections: a mechanical porch, an enclosed work area and storage room. There will also be an extensive seat track mounted horizontally and vertically to the walls to accommodate a wide variety of integration requirements.
