Scott Cables produces high-performance electrical wiring harnesses and precision microwave and radio frequency (RF) coaxial cable assemblies for the defence industry.
The company has established a reputation as an industry-leading supplier of cable assemblies, providing customers with a ‘complete solution’ to meet a wide range of defence industry requirements.
Our in-house manufacturing capabilities, including a test facility and tool room, enable us to fulfil all aspects of cable assembly production.
Solutions for the defence market
Defence has been the primary focus of Scott Cables since its inception. The company’s solutions are suitable for a wide range of defence industry applications, including:
- Military vehicles, C4i Systems (Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence), soldier-worn technology and weapon systems.
- Electrical systems for naval and military aircraft.
- Satellite communication networks supporting national security and defence infrastructure.
Scott Cables supports the defence industry with a variety of cable assemblies, from fully sealed, ruggedised wiring harnesses made using heat shrink sleeving and moulded parts to survive harsh environments, through to high-performance microwave cables, built using the latest RF connector technology for critical military communications.
The company is AS9100 certified (aerospace quality standard) so that customers can be assured of a robust quality management system and full traceability of materials and sub-components. We are also JOSCAR registered and supply our products to the industry at all levels: UK MoD, major defence primes, and sub-tier defence contractors.
Radio frequency cable assemblies and circular wiring harnesses for military applications
Scott Cables designs flexible RF cable assemblies for electronic systems including GPS, Wi-Fi, and Radio, as well as electronic countermeasures (ECM).
We also specialise in the manufacture of circular connector wiring harnesses and specialist components for a range of military platforms.
Our experienced design team uses HarnWare software to develop products that include 2D/3D modelling, cable preparation, semi-rigid and alternative microwave solutions, special jacketed assemblies, and multi-way cable assemblies.
The company can also provide wiring schedules, design consultation services, fast turnaround times for prototype assemblies, as well as the option to use customer templates.
Semi-rigid cable assemblies and systems for defence requirements
Scott Cables’ semi-rigid assemblies are fully formed and terminated, making them ideal for high-performance applications of up to 50GHz.
Our tested and plotted low-cost cable assemblies are available with all industry-standard connectors with corresponding phase or amplitude.
Internal carriage looms are supplied to meet high operational standards, and a fitting service is also available for customer-supplied equipment.
Other cable systems provided by Scott Cables include Earth braids, multiway assemblies, power cables, and equipment looms, as well as tri-rated cable looms and multi-pole assemblies/circulars.
LMR coaxial cables and connectors
Scott Cables is an authorised stocking distributor for Time Microwave LMR coaxial cables. The company also manufactures and supplies cable assemblies built using this range of products.
The LMR range is designed to provide direct replacements for traditional RF cables, offering enhanced flexibility in either flame-retardant or low-smoke zero-halogen (LSZH) jackets.
We offer a wide range of LMR cables and connectors and can deliver component materials or fully manufactured and tested assemblies.
High-quality, waterproof cable assemblies for military applications
Our RF cable assemblies can be supplied with an extensive range of connectors, standard jumper cables, as well as with ultra-flex, waterproof, low smoke or plenum jackets.
Other products available include our semi-rigid cable alternative, T-Flex, and our LLSB low-loss, fire-retardant cable range, which is ideal for adverse military applications.
Scott Cables also offers a low-loss variant (up to 40GHz) of our Times Microwave range of cables, as well as a low-passive intermodal advanced shielded range of cables (up to 16GHz), known as T Com.
