Neousys Technology, an industry-leading provider of rugged embedded systems, renowned for its high quality embedded systems and beyond industry specifications, the SEMIL series, saw their Nuvo-7000 series embedded system implemented in an autonomous landmine clearing vehicle project.
The autonomous landmine clearing vehicle is a collaboration amongst multiple robotics firms. The vehicle with paint sprayers conforms to United Nations standards, spraying red and white lines for unscanned and scanned areas, respectively. To achieve its objectives, the vehicle has several modules that include: a novel line detection system with visual servoing capability to follow and move along the deposited lines, a state machine to determine the type of line to paint, and the control module for the autonomous vehicle to maneuver in a combing pattern to maintain specific scanning density.
Featuring Neousys’ proven technologies for superior ruggedness and versatility, the Nuvo 7000 series has modern computing connectivity such as USB3.1 Gen2 with up to 10Gbps throughput, both the mini PCIe slot and M.2 B key sockets come with SIM slots for wireless communications and the system is also MIL-STD-810G certified to withstand shock and vibration. All connections are further protected from ESD and power surge making them flexible and versatile for a variety of applications.
The implementation goes to show the capability and reliability of Neousys embedded computers are worthy, even for military-like applications. Neousys Technology has been dedicated to solving embedded computer field deployment pain points and has acquired various patents that cover thermal, shock and vibration. Since then, to bridge the gap between industrial and military application computers, SEMIL extreme-rugged computers were created. Featuring true fanless design, dust and IP67 waterproof capabilities, 2U or half-rack dimensions, COTS M12 connectors, stainless steel monoblock chassis construction, SEMIL computers are created specifically for mission-critical military applications and a class above industrial embedded computers.
