Moog Inc. (NYSE: MOG.A and MOG.B) Space and Defense Group will highlight air and land defense weapon solutions to an audience of roughly 31,000 industry professionals at the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) 2019 Annual Meeting and Exposition in Washington D.C. Moog’s two key defense technologies to be featured include the RIwP – a flexible, scalable, Medium Caliber Turreted Weapon System; and a Little Bird helicopter with digital weapon SMS capabilities. These solutions can be seen on exhibit from October 14-16 in Moog’s booth #3045.
The RIwP will be featured in three booths at this year’s show.
- The Tailored Overmatch Configuration can be seen in Moog’s booth in the lower level, Hall B. This configuration is armed with an XM813 (30mm x 173mm) chain gun, M240 machine gun, two MX-GCS sensors and a Javelin missile launcher and will be on display Monday. On Tuesday and Wednesday, the Javelin missile will be swapped out for an APKWS launcher to demonstrate ease of reconfiguration.
- Meanwhile, teammate Leonardo DRS will showcase the Medium Caliber Weapon System (MCWS) Configuration on a Stryker platform in booth #6040. This RIwP configuration is armed with an XM813 (30mm x 173mm) chain gun, M240 machine gun, and two MX-GCS sensors.
- Finally, General Dynamics will present the government owned IM-SHORAD prototype Configuration in booth #803. This turret configuration will comprise the XM914 (30 mm x 113mm) chain gun, M240 machine gun, MX-GCS sensor, Stinger Vehicle Universal Launcher (SVUL), and a Longbow Hellfire missile launcher.
Moog’s Advanced Digital Weapon SMS is a Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) weapons control system that seamlessly integrates with aircraft sensors and mission management systems to provide the air crew with superior fire control. Being platform agnostic – its modular, expandable design can be tailored to the customer’s unique requirements, regardless of the host platform and offers unmatched mission capability. Its advanced hardware and software design meets current MIL-SPEC requirements while maintaining the capacity to integrate future weapons for FVL/FARA.
AUSA 2019 will be held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. It is the largest land power exposition and professional development forum in North America. This event aims to highlight the capabilities of organizations by presenting a wide range of industry products and services, and provides military and industry professionals with networking opportunities, panel discussions and seminars. Moog will be one of over 700 exhibitors from 80+ different countries at this year’s show.
