Curtiss-Wright’s Defense Solutions division today announced that it was selected by TORC Robotics to provide its small form factor (SFF) rugged COTS Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) switch subsystem for use in autonomous, tele-operated, unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs).
Curtiss-Wright provided TORC with its rugged, SFF Parvus® DuraNET® 20-10 Ethernet switch. Optimised for size, weight, power and cost (SWaP-C), this fully managed 20-port network switch delivers comprehensive Ethernet management, security, and reliable design features sought by aerospace and defence platform integrators. Units ordered by TORC were delivered in 2015 and successfully integrated into TORC UGV platforms.
"Curtiss-Wright is excited to have been selected by TORC Robotics to provide our rugged small form factor Ethernet switch for the on-board network of their unmanned ground vehicles," said Lynn Bamford, senior vice president and general manager, defence solutions division.
"The DuraNET 20-10 continues to be a great choice for a wide range of demanding vehicle and aircraft applications. We stand ready to support future TORC UGV programme requirements."
