John Cockerill Defense is proud to present, at DSEI 2021, and for the first time in Europe, our new products that combine modularity, reliability and high performance, namely the Cockerill 1030 and the Cockerill CLWS.
John Cockerill Defense is also exhibiting the 105mm version of the Cockerill® 3000 Series, which has been delivered in several hundred units to the Middle East and Asia in recent years.
DSEI 2021 is the opportunity for John Cockerill Defense to present its 2 new turrets on the European continent, the Cockerill® 1030 and the Cockerill CLWS. Light, accurate, multi-mission and with great firepower, the Cockerill 1030 is the answer to the needs of today’s and tomorrow’s armed forces. Its lightness (<1.5t with level 2 ballistic protection), compactness (1.5m diameter at the vehicle interface), 200 round capacity, 2 digital sighting systems, high elevation (up to 70°) and the ability to integrate a wide range of subsystems such as AT missiles, rockets, APS, 360° close observation… make it the ideal weapon system for all vehicles and missions (APC, IFV, anti-drone, amphibious…).
With more than 1000 turrets in service worldwide today, the John Cockerill Defense team have acquired a unique experience in reliability and performance from which the
Cockerill®1030 benefits. The latter is to be discovered on the John Cockerill Defense stand (reference below).
The new Cockerill CLWS (Cockerill Light Weapon System) is a modular stabilised platform (Remote Weapon System) which is 100% remotely operated and is the perfect complement to light armoured vehicles (4×4, 6×6 …). It integrates significant firepower through a range of calibres such as 25mm, 30x113mm, 12.7mm, coax 7.62mm, rockets and anti-tank guided missiles. It is light (±600kg), compact (< 600mm height with optics linked to the gun) and fully configurable according to the missions to be performed. The capability to reload the main weapon under armour, from within the vehicle, greatly increases the safety of the crew under combat conditions.
At DSEI, the Cockerill CLWS is exhibited on the stand of the Finnish company Patria (H7-120). DSEI is also an opportunity to (re)discover the Cockerill® 3000 Series modular turret. The latter is a unique platform that allows the same turret to integrate guns of different calibres and the corresponding technological modules: automatic guns of 25 mm, 30 mm, 30/40 mm, 35 mm and 50 mm calibre as well as direct fire guns of 90 and 105 mm calibre. These systems can also fire missiles. The Cockerill 3000 Series (in its 105mm version) is on display at the John Cockerill Defense.
Thierry Renaudin, President of John Cockerill Defense: “These four days at DSEI are an excellent opportunity for us to demonstrate the coherence, the amplitude and the innovative character of the John Cockerill Defense offer. Our ambition is to remain at the forefront of technological developments and to meet the growing need for versatility of ever more mobile armies. This is why we continue to improve our technology offering, which includes modular turrets, coupled with UAVs, capable of firing missiles, connected with simulators, and all associated training and support services”.
