Defence communications specialist Vitavox is ready to deliver the fully qualified Scout SV Public Address System for GDUK’s on-going Scout SV programme. Development and testing have been completed and the equipment has exceeded the performance, durability, EMC and environmental requirements for both DEF STAN and MIL-STD. The export version, named the Outacom System, is uniquely qualified as a rugged, fully designed and tested complete military off-the-shelf (MOTS) system to these exacting standards. Although developed specifically for the Scout SV Programme, the Outacom version is ideal for all tracked and wheeled variants from heavy armour such as main battle tanks through to light protected patrol vehicles.

The patented Outacom vehicle mounted public address system is specifically designed to satisfy the shift in military doctrine by acknowledging the necessity to communicate verbally directly outside the vehicle. This capability is intended to reduce the risk of death, injury and collateral damage both to vehicle personnel and civilians, and support effective communication between the military personnel and nearby civilians.

The system consists of a two channel amplifier, two external output loudspeaker modules and a rugged noise-cancelling microphone. The concept design was displayed at IAV 2013 and a qualified system will be showcased at IAV 2014, 5-6 February.

Vitavox’ competencies include bespoke design, manufacture and delivery of robust, powerful, operationally-proven products and systems to the worldwide military market.
