The N-CORE software tool created by ESG Elektroniksystem- und Logistik-GmbH is gradually becoming the standard tool for codification of NATO inventory.
Six members of the Alliance and one additional country now use the special software developed by the Munich-based company. The addition of the Netherlands makes it eight.
The N-CORE “NATO Codification System Repository” was developed by ESG. The software enables decentralised management of the entire NATO material stock. The Alliance inventory comprises goods such as weapons, machines, office equipment and clothing. In all Member States, each article is assigned a 13-digit supply number on the basis of which the article can be clearly identified.
N-CORE is now the world’s leading commercial tool for this type of codification. Users of N-CORE benefit from a considerable increase in the quality, productivity and cost-effectiveness of codification. In addition to the new user, the Netherlands, the tool is used in Austria, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Slovenia and Turkey.
