It’s been 10 years since we first made audio products for the PR4G radio system. Surely the system has endured the test of time. Now the PR4G is available with a new waveform.
At CJ, we first designed CJ TACOM tactical headsets, as well as a version of our CJ-H-250 handset for the PR4G radios in use by the Hellenic Army. As part of a radio procurement with Intracom Defence, we had supported a multi-year radio communications program with tactical headsets and military handsets to meet the required specifications of the PR4G Radio.
The new waveform, GeoMux, is one of the most advanced Electronic Protective Measure (EPM) VHF waveforms on the market. In addition to providing three high quality services simultaneously, voice, data and GPS position, GeoMux also includes a unique transverse communication capability allowing the radio to operate simultaneously on two independent radio channels.
The first channel is used for normal voice and data traffic while the second channel is used to exchange geographical data. With this new "waveform in its software library, Thales once again demonstrates its innovation capacity and its skill in software defined radio technologies" said Patrice Caine, vice president of Thales in charge of radio communications activities.
With network centric operation, the need for information increases significantly. Today, it has become essential to efficiently interconnect the various actors in military operations at all levels, from national joint headquarters down to soldiers in remote areas. Seamless interoperability is the key word, enabling cooperative operations with allied forces over legacy and future networks.
Supporting these new capabilities and offering simultaneous voice, data and blue force tracking, GeoMux perfectly meets all user operational requirements in a single piece of radio equipment. From now on, GeoMux waveform will equip all PR4G F@stnet radio models – handheld, manpack and vehicle stations.
More than 150,000 PR4G F@stnet radios are used in operation by numerous armies worldwide. CJ has vast experience supplying actual audio products in use worldwide for the PR4G and other major radio systems.
