FAUN Trackway’s fundraising campaign in aid of a young woman from Anglesey suffering from a rare illness is continuing to gain pace as the company sets its sights on the Manchester Marathon.
FAUN employees Carole Becton, Rob Jennings, Simon Roberts and Dewi Thomas will be participating in the race, which takes place on Sunday 19th April, in aid of 20 year-old Beth Frazer, who has been diagnosed with a rare brain tumour. The disease has left Beth unable to walk and the rarity of the condition means she needs £120,000 to visit the world’s leading experts in the condition, who are based in the US.
After making a contribution towards her fund earlier this year, FAUN Trackway will now take on the marathon to raise further funds for the campaign. For the past few months, the company has been raising sponsorship money for the team, with all contributions going to Beth’s fund.
The Manchester Marathon is one of the flattest marathon courses in the UK, which means it’s also one of the fastest. This is the second time that FAUN will take part in the marathon as a relay team, after recording a time of 3:52 last year.
