As part of the worldwide field support (WFS) task order, GDIT will be responsible for delivering mission-essential logistics, sustainment, and maintenance services.
GDIT will provide the services for existing and future command, control, computers, communications, cyber, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C5ISR) systems, and equipment.
The task order also includes providing hardware and software field support to warfighters across the globe, which strengthens GDIT’s army logistics footprint.
The services will support the global joint US and coalition forces within seven Army Field Support Brigade (AFSB) regions.
GDIT president Amy Gilliland said: “We’re excited to accelerate work on this important program which brings together expertise from across General Dynamics, focusing our collective hardware and software systems solutions on providing CECOM with an innovative and cost-effective approach to supporting the warfighter’s mission.”
The task order is part of the responsive strategic sourcing for services multiple-award indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract.
It was awarded in April last year to General Dynamics Global Force, which comprises GDIT, General Dynamics Mission Systems, General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, and General Dynamics Land Systems.
In December last year, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) announced that the work could proceed, after the dismissal of two contract award protests.
ManTech Advanced Systems International had protested the issuance of a task order to the General Dynamics joint venture, alleging unreasonable and disparate treatment in the evaluation of proposals.
General Dynamics recently posted a 2021 full-year revenue of $38.5bn, up 1.4% compared to last year.
