Moog is a global designer, manufacturer, and integrator of precision motion control and stabilisation products for the defence and aerospace industries. The company offers high-performance equipment across air, land, and sea platforms.

Moog is recognised by military forces around the world for its industry-leading solutions, which include counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS), fast ammunition handling, precise missile steering, weapon stores management and turreted weapon systems.

Reconfigurable Integrated-weapons Platform (RIwP) for military applications

Moog’s state-of-the-art Reconfigurable Integrated-weapons Platform (RIwP) is an innovative remote solution offering multiple weapon options to guarantee tailored overmatch in a range of combat situations.

RIwP has been developed to include several advanced features, including high-performance target acquisition technology and unmatched pointing / stabilisation accuracy. This ensures military forces see and act first, helping them to achieve mission success.

Moog’s weapon SMS is vehicle agnostic and can be fitted to helicopters or land vehicles.
Moog provides weapon systems, stabilisation and other hardware to surface ship weapons.
Moog’s Reconfigurable Integrated-weapons Platform (RIwP) is available in more than 125 configurations to meet evolving mission needs.
The company’s hardware provides the control actuation system (CAS) on Hellfire missiles.
Moog actuation can be found on today’s USS Virginia-class and future Columbia-class submarines.

The RIwP also features an unrivalled range of platform weapon system interoperability and allows users to reload under armour, as well as in-field weapon re-configurability.

Effective C-UAS integrated solutions to detect UAS threats

Moog offers an integrated layered C-UAS solution through the pairing of its specialised video-tracking capabilities to a variety of field-proven sensor technologies. This facilitates the detection, tracking, identification and interdiction of potential UAS threats.

Sensor technologies offered by the company include 3D radars, radio frequency (RF) sensors, laser range finders, and RF/GPS disruptors.

Rugged and affordable systems for weapon stores management

Moog has developed a digital weapon SMS solution that incorporates a controller, targeting sensors, operator stations, and command-and-control systems. The Third Generation Weaponisation System ensures uninterrupted communication from input commands through target acquisition and weapon fire or release.

The SMS’s versatile modular design enables fast delivery and rapid integration, facilitating future upgrades to the sensors, avionics, and weapons. This guarantees scalability for future mission requirements and weapons expansion. The SMS is compatible with a wide range of equipment, from simple guns and rockets to smart weapons with mixed stores.

Moog’s digital weapon SMS solution is a lightweight, rugged and affordable system for store management on air, land, and sea platforms. The solution draws on Moog’s engineering and software development experience, as well as the company’s knowledge in weapons technology and manufacturing.

Precision steering for air defence missiles

Moog provides precision flight control actuation systems (CAS) for tactical and strategic missiles. Moog’s systems are among the most advanced in the industry and support all variants of missile, from close air to long range hypersonic missiles.

The company also provides thruster valves for divert and attitude control systems (DACS), which meter the flow of rocket engine propellant used in interceptors and kill vehicle (KV) steering for ballistic missile defense (BMD) systems.

Naval systems for ROV and AUV platforms

Moog’s naval solutions support surface ship stabilisation and weaponisation, as well as submarine and autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) actuation, propulsion and controls. The company is a leading provider of hydraulic, electromechanical and pneumatic systems for nuclear submarines, deep submersibles, aircraft carriers, and other naval vessels.

Moog has designed and manufactured hundreds of critical control systems that operate valves, open and lock hatches, and provide propulsion for these platforms.

For remotely operated vehicle (ROV) and AUV platforms, Moog also provides motors, controllers, actuators, servovalves, and sonar equipment.

The company is also making investments in future technologies to support these platforms through its dedicated naval and marine facilities in the US, Canada, UK, Germany, and Australia.
