ASI Australia / Liberty Industrial provide demolition consulting and contracting, as well as simulation of demolition and progressive collapse. We use state-of-the-art 3D simulation technology for the modelling of the demolition of structures subjected to bomb blasts, earthquakes, hurricane force winds and other extreme loading events.

Liberty Industrial is a heavy industrial demolition contractor and an exclusive Australian agent for Extreme Loading for Structures (ELS) software from Applied Science International (US), also trading as ASI Australia.

We provide specialist demolition contracting services to the defence, mining, heavy industrial and power generation industries. Through the use of advanced technology we deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions from conception to completion.

Liberty Industrial is Australia’s leading supplier of industrial deconstruction services. We provide complete demolition solutions to large projects in the government and private sectors.

3D demolition simulation for the defence industry

ASI Australia can model a building collapse with realistic visualisation of resulting damage and debris. It can be applied to almost any structure from high-rise buildings to historical structures, bridges, stadiums, arenas and even elevated water tanks.

A near-virtual reality scenario allows you to see a full motion video of what will happen, whether it’s a bomb within a building’s perimeter, an earthquake underneath it, or a hurricane damaging it from the side. ELS visuals allow first responders to become integral participants in the development of threat scenarios for crisis management planning.

The software’s unique simulation capabilities include:

  • Progressive collapse
  • Crack initiation and propagation
  • Demolition prediction / failure
  • Blast / explosion
  • Structural evaluation
  • Construction / design defect
  • Seismic / earthquake
  • Wind
  • Glazing
  • Bridges
  • Corrosion / deterioration
  • Pre-stressing
  • Visual effects

Structure vulnerability and risk assessment software

Accurate vulnerability and risk assessment is what ASI’s breakthrough technology provides for both man-made and natural threats. The applications of ASI technology for defence are numerous, from anti-terrorism structural assessments against blast to weapons effects. Extreme Loading® for Structures software holds ‘Designation Status’ for anti-terrorism under the SAFETY Act by the US Department of Homeland Security.

Visualising predicted structural response brings a new level of understanding and informed decision making to constructing, retrofitting or securing a building through a modification of the structural design, relocating key assets, extending a building’s perimeter, changing the glazing, or implementing new security procedures.

Advanced structural engineering services for defence building design

ASI Australia offers advanced structural engineering services, including structural vulnerability analysis of critical Australian infrastructure, defence building design and reinforcement against blast and progressive collapse, design of defence products, and demolition planning and prediction.

Specialist deconstruction consulting services

In addition to demolition contracting, Liberty Industrial offers specialist deconstruction consulting services, which include preparing closure documentation (consisting of detailed cost estimate reporting and methodologies), completing detailed engineering studies and risk management strategies.

In conjunction with our partners at Applied Science International, we also offer state-of-the-art 3D structural modelling and analysis through our company ASI Australia, mitigating risk associated with the demolition of large complex structures using Extreme Loading for Structures (ELS) to simulate the induced collapse. By using 3D modelling, we are able to precisely refine our demolition methods to ensure we remove the risks associated with weakening structures.
