The Singapore Armed Forces’ (SAF) new Higuard vehicle has entered into operational service, offering high-level protection and enabling the SAF to safely continue its mission.
Launch of the Renault Trucks Defense-manufactured vehicle into operational service coincided with the 50th anniversary of the 2nd People’s Defense Force (2 PDF).
Featuring a V-shaped hull, the Higuard brings together the off-road mobility of the Sherpa medium 6 x 6 tactical truck and crew protection. The hull is designed to survive explosions caused by ballistics, mines, and IEDs.
The Higuard is suitable for tactical missions, such as troop transport in asymmetric combat areas. It features a self-protection system, which is deployed through a remotely-operated turret.
With gross vehicle weight of 20t, the vehicle can accommodate approximately 12 soldiers with their equipments.
The Higuard has fuel tank capacity of 255l, and maximum range and speed of 850km and 90kmph, respectively.

By GlobalDataRenault Trucks Defense said that Singapore is the second export customer for the Higuard vehicle.
Called Peacekeeper, a fleet of approximately 40 vehicles will serve the 2 PDF, which is assigned to protect sensitive facilities and coordinate with military resources in crisis situations.
