Computer and Mathematical Occupations drive cloud-related hiring activity
Computer and Mathematical Occupations, with a share of 54%, emerged as the top cloud-related job roles within the aerospace, defence and security industry in Q4 2023, with new job postings drop by 11% quarter-on-quarter. Architecture and Engineering Occupations came in second with a share of 9% in Q4 2023, with new job postings rising by 8% over the previous quarter.
The other prominent cloud roles include Management Occupations with a 7% share in Q4 2023, Sales and Related Occupations with a 2% share of new job postings.

The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q4 2023 were Leidos, Boeing, RTX, Thales, and Northrop Grumman. Together they accounted for a combined share of 55% of all cloud-related new jobs in the aerospace, defence and security industry.
Leidos posted 624 cloud-related new jobs in Q4 2023, Boeing 503 jobs, RTX 379 jobs, Thales 359 jobs, and Northrop Grumman 266 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.
Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 58.70% share of total new job postings, Q4 2023
The largest share of cloud-related new job postings in the aerospace, defence and security industry in Q4 2023 was in the US with 58.70% followed by India (11.56%) and France (11.36%). The share represented by the US was 0 percentage points higher than the 58.39% share it accounted for in Q3 2023.
