Lockheed Martin has confirmed the receipt of the Polish Ministry of National Defence's (MND) formal approval for five offset projects under the WISLA programme's Phase I.

The offset projects have been executed by Lockheed Martin in collaboration with local Polish industrial partners.

All the projects aim to enhance Poland's technical capabilities and manufacturing expertise, particularly in components related to the Patriot Advanced Capability – 3 (PAC-3) Missile Segment Enhancement (MSE) and to improve Poland’s air and missile defence capabilities.

Among the local industry partners are Wojskowe Zaklady Elektroniczne (WZE) and Wojakowe Zaklady Lotnicze Nr. 2 (WZL-2). Both have each successfully completed essential offset projects supporting the WISLA programme.

These projects are pivotal in integrating Polish companies into the PAC-3 supply chain, creating skilled job opportunities within the Polish defence sector.

WZE secured official approval for three projects, including the Junction Box (J-Box) production project, Enhanced Electronics System (ELES) production project, and the Motor Controller Unit (MCU) design project.

To complete these projects, WZE had set up production lines capable of final assembly for the ELES and J-Box programmes, which are integral to the PAC-3 launcher's operation.

Lockheed Martin said it also plans to offer WZE the chance to compete for production orders of ELES and J-Box for PAC-3 MSE launchers delivered to Poland.

The MCU project concentrated on designing an electrical power switch unit.

With these achievements, WZE has now completed four out of seven offset projects under the WISLA programme's first phase.

Meanwhile, WZL-2 has officially concluded two projects supporting the F-16 aircraft: the F-16 Electrical maintenance project and the F-16 Electrical hydraulic project.

These projects have transferred technology and know-how, provided equipment, tooling, documentation, and technical assistance, enabling WZL-2 to maintain three F-16 Generators and two F-16 hydraulic components.

WZL-2 has thus fulfilled all three of their commitments under the WISLA programme's first phase.

Lockheed Martin Poland and Central and Eastern Europe director Robert Orzylowski said: “Our partnership with the Polish industrial base provides high-value jobs and a strong skills base to the Polish defence industry and opens the door to worldwide commercial opportunities.”
