General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) has secured two training support services task orders worth $330m from the US Army Contracting Command – Orlando.

These orders are part of the $975m Mission Training Complex Capabilities Support II (MTCSS II) contract, aimed at enhancing simulation training for soldiers and units.

The company explained that mission training complexes serve as locations where soldiers and units undergo training on individual mission command systems, collective battle staff operations, and simulations to effectively prepare for deployment.

The first task order, valued at $180m, involves training soldiers across US Army Pacific mission training complexes.

This order includes a one-year base period with four option years.

The second task order, valued at $150m, provides training at XVIII Airborne Corps mission training complexes, with a five-year base period and six option months.

GDIT will train more than 500,000 soldiers using live, virtual, and constructive (LVC) environments, to enhance warfighting readiness.

Additionally, GDIT will offer logistical and technical support as part of these programmes.

The US military is investing in simulation and training systems, a sector expected to reach a value of $159bn from 2023 to 2028.

Land simulation and training is projected as the largest segment at $137.2bn, according to Globaldata’s ‘US Defense Market 2023-2028’ report.

GDIT Defense senior vice-president Brian Sheridan said: “Advanced training capabilities are critical to maintaining warfighter superiority.

“We look forward to continuing our long-standing support to the Army with modern training services that will meet the demands of a constantly evolving battlefield environment.”

The latest task orders expand GDIT's training support services within the Department of Defense.

Earlier in 2024, GDIT received a $160m task order for training at III Armored Corps mission training complexes.

In 2023, the company secured a $1.7bn Flight School Training contract for the US Army and a $383m Navy Training contract.
