GDIT secure contract to enhance US Army training standard

General Dynamics Information Technology is to train more than 200,000 soldiers at mission training complexes.

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) has been awarded a $160m task order by the Army Contracting Command Orlando to provide essential training support services, bolstering US Army readiness in today's evolving battlefield landscape.

Awarded as part of the Mission Training Complex Capabilities Support II (MTCCS) indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract, the task order shows GDIT's commitment to delivering training solutions tailored to the demands of modern warfare.

Mission training complexes serve as hubs where soldiers and entire units undergo training, including individual mission command information system training, collective battle staff training, and simulation exercises. With a mandate to train more than 200,000 soldiers at the US Army's III Armored Corps mission training complexes, GDIT will integrate live, virtual, and constructive environments to simulate a variety of scenarios.

The US military is investing heavily in its simulation and training systems to prepare its personnel correctly. Its largest training segment is projected to be land simulation and training, at $137.2bn, according to GlobalData's "US Defense Market 2023-2028" report.

Brian Sheridan, GDIT's senior vice president for defence, emphasised the role of training in navigating today's multifaceted battlefield challenges. He stated, "High-quality training is critical to ensuring success in today's complex and rapidly evolving battlefield environment. For more than 19 years, we have supported the Army's mission training complexes with integrated training capabilities."

The contract expands GDIT's defence training portfolio across the US Department of Defense. With recent notable contract wins, including the $1.7bn flight school training contract and a $383m navy Training contract.
