The US Army has awarded a basic ordering agreement (BOA) to Carahsoft Technology for commercial Cloud solutions.
The BOA for the Army Cloud Computing Enterprise Transformation (ACCENT) will support the army’s transition from enterprise systems / applications to commercial Cloud environments.
The agreement covers all Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP)-authorised Cloud service offerings in Carahsoft’s portfolio.
It is applicable to the solutions with provisional authorisation from the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), including software-as-a-service, platform-as-a-service and infrastructure-as-a-service solutions from a list of vendors.
Carahsoft Technology president Craig Abod said: “ACCENT is an important step in the army’s transition to the Cloud and the larger drive toward deploying Cloud services across the government.
“Enabling our military with the latest equipment is critical to national security. The flexibility of the Cloud allows the army to better support its personnel in rapidly changing environments.”

By GlobalDataUnder the BOA, Carahsoft will perform contracted work until February next year.
The total cost for all task orders across the BOA awards is estimated to be around $247.7m.
The contract is intended to support the Army Data Center Consolidation Plan (ADCCP) modernisation and migration requirements.
ADCCP is in response to the US Department of Defense directives to reduce physical information technology infrastructure.
The army intends to move designated IT applications, systems and data to authorised commercial Cloud service providers (CSPs).
The ACCENT programme aims to expand the service’s Cloud hosting environment.
This includes procuring support for the transition and modernising the army’s overall IT infrastructure.
The US Army uses the ACCENT BOA platform for commercial Cloud services task orders.
Earlier this month, Carahsoft was awarded a blanket purchase agreement to provide cybersecurity solutions to the US Department of the Navy and affiliated branches.
