The US Army has awarded a new contract with a ceiling value of $3.53bn to sustain training aids, devices, simulators and simulations (TADSS) systems across several locations worldwide.
The new Army TADSS Maintenance Program (ATMP) contract has been awarded by the Army Contracting Command Orlando, in support of the US Army Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI).
Under the deal, Lockheed Martin has been contracted to sustain more than 300,000 TADSS systems used in several locations worldwide for seven years, including live-fire ranges and instrumentation systems.
ATMP allows for maintenance using mobile devices with advanced management information technology to help effectively track and maintain a wide range of training systems.
This enables the US Army to ensure optimum operational awareness and allows soldiers to make informed decisions using on-demand access to precise, complete and timely data.
Lockheed Martin Training and Logistics Solutions general manager and vice-president Amy Gowder said: “Lockheed Martin is proud of the trust and confidence the army shows in us by selecting us to provide a worldwide, integrated, one-stop training systems maintenance and sustainment programme.

By GlobalData“Along with supporting efficient readiness and training, ATMP will maintain thousands of jobs supporting direct TADSS sustainment, while bolstering other jobs across the US in the TADSS supply chain.”
The current contract will see Lockheed Martin collaborate with partners PULAU Corporation, Cubic Global Defense, and other large and small businesses, which focus on TADSS maintenance and sustainment through a mobile technology-enabled workforce.
Once fully implemented and running, the ATMP contract will help generate thousands of employment opportunities in the country.
