The armies of Singapore and the US have taken part in the 40th edition of the flagship bilateral exercise ‘Tiger Balm 2021’.
Sponsored by US Army Pacific (USARPAC), this year’s brigade-level exercise was conducted virtually in Singapore and O’ahu, Hawai’i, US.
Exercise Tiger Balm is designed to enhance interoperability between the two armies, collaborate and exchange tactics, training and equipment, techniques and procedures.
It also provides an opportunity for both nations to increase combat readiness capabilities.
Singapore Army Chief of Staff-General Staff (COS-GS) brigadier general Frederick Choo said: “Through four decades of exchanges, we have learnt from each other, and enhanced our professionalism and interoperability.
“These lasting friendships are a hallmark of Exercise Tiger Balm and form the bedrock of the relationship that our armies share.”
