Saab has secured a Skr135m ($16.1m) contract to supply Carl-Gustaf M4 Ground Combat Indoor Trainer (GC IDT) to the Swedish Armed Forces.
The new order was placed by the Swedish Defence Material Administration (FMV) under the framework agreement signed in June 2019.
As agreed, Saab will deliver complete Carl-Gustaf M4 weapon system training studios that will enable the Swedish forces to provide weapon training to around 100 soldiers simultaneously in a virtual environment.
The training solution will include replica weapons, a virtual environment and an evaluation system.
Saab will also deliver conversion kits that will help in turning a studio deployment into a standalone individual trainer with a small footprint.
The GC IDT system can also be extended to provide training on additional weapon types ranging from small arms to shoulder-launched missiles.
