Saab has received an initial order to supply the Carl-Gustaf M4 multi-purpose weapon system to the Swedish Armed Forces.
The Skr330m ($35.57m) order is part of a framework agreement reached by Saab with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) for the Carl-Gustaf M4.
Under the framework agreement, FMV can place orders for the weapon system during a ten-year period.
Saab will make deliveries under the initial order during 2020-23.
The agreement seeks to reduce the red tape involved in the procurement process to enable quick and cost-effective purchasing.
It also covers a potential sale of Carl-Gustaf M4 to the Estonian and Latvian Armed Forces.

By GlobalDataSaab dynamics head Görgen Johansson said: “We are happy to announce that the Swedish Armed Forces, the first and original user of the Carl-Gustaf system, have decided to modernise their shoulder-fired support-weapon capability.
“This order will provide the Swedish soldiers with the most modern support weapons, ammunition, and accessories.”
Carl-Gustaf M4 is a new version of the Carl-Gustaf portable shoulder-launched multi-role weapon system that has been in service worldwide since 1948.
Launched in 2014, Carl-Gustaf M4 features an improved and lightweight design that is intended to offer mobility improvements to the soldier.
The M4 variant weighs less than 7kg and provides a range of engagement options.
It is designed to provide improved accuracy and compatibility with future battlefield technology developments such as intelligent sighting systems and programmable ammunition.
Saab has so far secured contracts from 11 countries for the weapon.
It signed a framework agreement in February to supply the Carl-Gustaf M4 to the US Army.
