RTX has reported a robust 2024 in terms of financial outcomes, with adjusted sales witnessing an 11% organic increase and adjusted earnings per share (EPS) growing by 13% percent.
The company’s reported net sales for 2024 reached $80.73bn, up 17% from $68.92bn in the previous year.
The GAAP EPS was $3.55, which reflected $1.20 in acquisition accounting adjustments and $0.98 in restructuring and other notable or non-recurring charges.
Operating cash flow totalled $7.2bn, with free cash flow reaching $4.5bn.
This financial growth was also accompanied by an improvement in segment margins across all three of its business units Collins Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney and Raytheon.
RTX president and CEO Chris Calio said: “We have strong momentum heading into 2025 with a $218bn backlog and unprecedented demand for our products and solutions. We remain focused on advancing our strategic priorities of executing on our commitments, innovating for growth and harnessing the breadth and scale of RTX, giving us confidence in our 2025 financial outlook.”

By GlobalDataIn the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2024, the company’s net sales also saw a rise for the quarter ending 31 December 2024, reaching $21.62bn, up 9% over the prior year’s $19.92bn.
The GAAP EPS was $1.10, which included $0.30 from acquisition accounting adjustments and $0.14 related to restructuring and other significant or non-recurring charges.
During the quarter, adjusted EPS was $1.54, reflecting a 19% increase compared to the previous year. Operating cash flow amounted to $1.6bn, while free cash flow stood at $0.5bn.
The company’s backlog totals $218bn, with $125bn from commercial orders and $93bn from defence contracts.
Looking ahead, RTX has set projections for the full year of 2025, expecting adjusted sales to be between $83.0bn and $84.0bn, adjusted EPS to range from $6.00 to $6.15, and free cash flow to be between $7bn and $7.5bn.
This follows the recent award of a $529m contract to RTX business unit Raytheon for the delivery of a Patriot air and missile defence system fire unit to the Netherlands.
