Israel’s Plasan Sasa has secured a contract to deliver its advanced armour package for the Spanish Army’s VCR Dragon 8×8 wheeled combat vehicle.
The contract, signed with Tess Defence, will include the first 348 Dragon vehicles.
As agreed, Plasan will supply its lightweight and modular RPG protection, called hybrid slat fence (HSF), and mine protection solutions for under belly and IED side blasts, along with shock absorbing mine seats.
The deliveries have already started, and will continue until 2026.
Plasan CEO Dan Ziv said: “This contract is an important milestone in Plasan’s efforts dedicated to the VCR during the past years, and remarkable evidence for Plasan’s unique ability to adapt its technology and solutions to specific platform and customer needs.
“Plasan is proud to take part in this prestigious programme of the Spanish MoD, and will continue to work closely with Tess Defence S.A. to ensure the successful implementation of the VCR programme.”
