Patria and the US Army have agreed to undertake a Foreign Comparative Testing (FCT) programme for Patria Nemo 120mm turreted mortar system.
The FCT will support the current partnership between the company and the service.
In May, Patria and the US Army agreed to conduct the feasibility study of Patria Nemo mortar system.
The US Army’s Combat Capabilities Development Command (CCDC) Armaments Center and Patria signed a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA).
Under the FCT, many tests and demonstrations will be carried out in the US and Finland.
The partners will test the system’s compatibility with the US ammunition. They will also check if it adheres to the requirements of the US.

“We are convinced that these study and test efforts we conduct together with the US Army demonstrate Patria Nemo’s unique capabilities compared to any other mortar system.
“Nemo as a mature fielded product, coupled with our clear growth potential vision, provide a future-proof and low-risk solution to existing and new customers.
“And for the US Armed Forces, our cooperation with Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace exemplify that we are committed to provide a system that is manufactured in the US.”
The US Army seeks to deliver quick precision indirect and direct fire capability to the Armored and Stryker Brigade Combat Teams while protecting the crew.
Patria’s 120mm turreted mortar system is a light and compact remote-controlled system and features direct and indirect fire capability.
It can be easily installed on wheeled armoured vehicles or navy vessels and launch up to six grenade multiple rounds impact fire missions simultaneously.
