Orbital ATK is investing in the expansion of its facility in Mesa, Arizona, US, in an effort to double the capacity for production of the Bushmaster family of medium-calibre cannons.
The facility produces the Bushmaster cannons, which provide weapons for air, land and sea combat platforms to the US military and its allies.
Arizona Governor Doug Ducey said: “Orbital ATK is engineering products that are critical to keeping our nation safe, and the State of Arizona is very proud of our longstanding partnership with the company.
“I thank Orbital ATK for continuing to invest in Arizona and create new, high-wage opportunities for our residents.”
Spread over 36,000ft², the expanded facility will enable the company to increase its production capacity by integrating its warehouse and manufacturing operations to one site.
Mesa Mayor John Giles said: “Orbital ATK’s new space will bring new jobs in engineering, manufacturing and management to one of Mesa’s fastest growing business hubs near Falcon Field airport.”
