StandardAero has secured a contract to support the C-27J Spartan aircraft upgrade programme of the US Army Special Forces Aviation Group.
Under the contract awarded through Lockheed Martin, the company will provide maintenance, repair and overhaul services for the force’s fleet of eight C-27J aircraft.
Lockheed is primarily responsible for providing maintenance services to the US Army Special Forces Aviation sector.
StandardAero Defense and Energy business unit in Canada vice-president and general manager Fritz Wolkenstein said: "We are excited to begin this new relationship with the US Army Special Forces and Lockheed Martin and hope to exceed their expectations.
"We look forward to developing a long-term partnership."
The C-27J Spartan is based on the Lockheed Martin-built C-130J Hercules medium tactical airlifter.

By GlobalDataPowered by two AE 2100D3 turboshaft engines, it is designed to conduct cargo and troop transportation, logistic support, electronic surveillance, firefighting, search-and-rescue, and airdrop operations.
Other missions include maritime patrol, medical evacuation, ground refuelling, and aerial spraying.
In addition to the US, the aircraft has been ordered by the UK, Australia, Italy, Greece, Bulgaria, Lithuania, and Peru, as well as an undisclosed African country.
StandardAero has supported more than 700 military engine overhauls.
