The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency has notified Congress of a potential sale of 124 M1151A1-B1 Up-Armoured High Mobility Multi-Purpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWVs) and 99 M1152A1-B2 Up-Armoured HMMWVs to Saudi Arabia.

Under the estimated $33m foreign military sale, Saudi Arabia has also requested supplemental armour kits, spare and repair parts, support and test equipment training and logistical support.

The proposed sale will allow the Royal Saudi Land Forces (RSLF) to employ counter and anti-terrorism measures as well as engage and defeat perimeter security threats.

The HMMWVs will provide the RSLF with high mobility and light combat vehicle capabilities.

AM General will be the prime contractor.
