Raytheon has secured a contract worth up to $600m to sustain and modernise the US Army’s strategic software systems.

The contract requires the company to provide software support and sustainment to strategic systems, such as missiles and launchers, radars, data mining and visualisation tools, condition-based maintenance, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, virtual operations centres and cyber resiliency of fielded systems.

Under the contract, Raytheon will support the US Army Aviation and Missile Research Development and Engineering Center (AMRDEC) Software Engineering Directorate (SED) in designing, testing and installing software updates for systems used by US combatant commands and defence agencies that range from missiles and launchers to cyber resiliency.
