Harris has been awarded a contract for the delivery of its Falcon III and Falcon II range of tactical communication systems to the Polish Ministry of National Defence (MND).
Under the $10m deal, the company will supply unspecified units of Falcon III AN/PRC-117G and Falcon II AN/PRC-150(C) portable radios to help Polish Armed Forces achieve communications interoperability with the US, NATO and coalition troops.
Harris RF Communications international business unit president Brendan O’Connell said the MND was ordering additional AN/PRC-117G radios to further expand its interoperable network to deployed soldiers.
"The AN/PRC-117G is the first and only widely deployed tactical wideband networking solution that offers secure interoperability with the US and NATO forces," O’Connell added.
Designed as a software-defined, upgradable voice and data platform, AN/PRC-117G supports network-enabled operations, such as convoy tracking, intelligence reporting and analysis, collaborative communications, route planning and medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) missions.
Offering continuous coverage from 30MHz to 2GHz frequency range, the portable radio also improves soldiers’ battlefield awareness by enabling simultaneous transmission of voice and data feeds, combat net radio capabilities and connectivity to secure networks.
