BEAR vehicles

Global manufacturer of armoured tactical vehicles Lenco Industries has successfully blast tested its new BEAR troop transport armored vehicle.

Designed to perform even in hostile conditions, the 17-man vehicle underwent both underbody and side blast testing at the US Army’s Aberdeen Test Centre at Aberdeen Proving Grounds.

Lenco has developed BEAR by combining its Mil-Spec steel armour construction with an additional composite B-Kit and engineering changes to help it redirect blast pressure.

By being blast resistant, the vehicle is claimed to be most suitable for operations of military, government personnel and international security forces across the globe.

Lenco vice-president Len Light said improvised explosive devices continue to be among the most pressing concerns for military operatives and overseas diplomatic transport.

"Improvised explosive devices continue to be among the most pressing concerns for military operatives."

"We’re proud to provide a blast resistant vehicle that has proven to outperform its military counterparts in protection and survivability," said Light.

The BEAR model, which is designed on the lines of traditional MRAP (mine resistant ambush protected) vehicles, features V-Hull construction and armour package that help in withstanding direct underbody blast and close proximity mortar round attacks.

Further, the vehicle is fitted with various survivability features such as blast seats, full fire suppression capabilities and run flat tires, in addition to several communications and intelligence sensors.

US government convoy teams and diplomatic security details are currently fielding the blast resistant MRAP BEAR overseas in hostile regions.
