Kratos Defense & Security Solutions has received a contract modification to expand global satellite radio frequency (RF)  interference monitoring for the US Department of Defense (DoD).

The Joint Functional Component Command for Space (JFCC Space) contract modification requires the company to expand RF monitoring, interference detection and geolocation services to include DoD-leased Ku and C-band commercial bandwidth worldwide, and X-band geolocation in select locations.

Under the $6.2m contract modification, Kratos will expand its services to European Command (EUCOM), Northern Command (NORTHCOM), Africa Command (AFRICOM) and Southern Command (SOCOM).

The company currently provides RF services for the Central Command (CENTCOM) and Pacific Command (PACOM) areas of responsibility (AORs).

Kratos will add seven new monitoring sites, host more than 60 antennas, and provide visibility to more than 50 satellites, 100 beams and 200 transponders worldwide.

The company will also enhance X-band geolocation capabilities for commercial and military satellites across the globe.
