Harris has been awarded two contracts for delivery of its Falcon III tactical communication systems and related accessories to an undisclosed Nato member country.
Valued at a combined $36m, the contracts cover supply of unspecified units of Falcon III AN/PRC-152(C) tactical radios, accessories and support services to help address the country’s armed forces’ communication requirements in rapidly changing tactical environments.
Harris RF Communications international business president Brendan O’Connell said the AN/PRC-152 was a widely fielded secure, handheld communication system with more than 160,000 radios deployed by customers worldwide.
"This radio will enable personnel to maintain voice and data connectivity throughout their missions, even when operating in remote areas with limited line-of-sight," O’Connell said.
Radios delivered under the contract are expected to support the country’s both line-of-sight and beyond line-of-sight satellite applications.
The Falcon III AN/PRC-152(C) is a single-channel multiband, multi-mission radio designed to provide secure, real-time information and communication at all points of need during coordination, combat, and crisis in 30-512MHz frequency range.
