Oshkosh Defense has won the legal conflict over a medium support vehicle system (MSVS) standard military pattern (SMP) contract award decision by the Canadian Department of National Defence.

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) ruled in favour of Oshkosh, which raised concerns over procurement processes, technical compliance and testing protocols shortfalls during the MSVS SMP evaluation.

Valued at C$834m ($636.5m), the MSVS SMP contract was awarded to Mack Defence last year.

The first medium support vehicles from Mack will be delivered to the Canadian Forces later this year, Ottawa Citizen reported.

Following a four-month review, CITT has recommended the Department of Public Works and Government Services re-evaluate Oshkosh’s bid.

The recommendation also includes the re-evaluation of vehicles and monetary compensation to Oshkosh.
