CACI International has secured two prime contracts to provide support services for the US Army’s warfighter information network’s tactical (WIN-T) system.
Valued at a combined $237m, the contracts require the company to provide field, sustain and maintain the WIN-T terminals, enabling a full range of encrypted and open communications for the army and marine corps joint military forces deployed in-theatre and at command centres worldwide.
The company will specifically offer all-inclusive support, such as deployment and fielding of terminals at global locations, extensive training for military forces, as well as embedded maintenance support to the deployed units in accordance with the field sustainment plan.
CACI chief operating officer and US operations president, John Mengucci, said: "This new work to support the army’s warfighter iInformation network’s tactical offers CACI the opportunity to ensure that the deployed forces’ satellite communications remain highly reliable, in support of their vital missions.”
CACI president and chief executive officer Ken Asbury said: "The WIN-T contract is an important strategic win for CACI. It’s much more than one of the largest programmes that the US Army currently has in the C4ISR arena…it broadens our support in this high-volume market area and positions us as a first-line solutions and service provider for US armed forces’ critical intelligence and communications programmes."
Around 1,000 terminals are currently present in the WIN-T network, offering both reliable communications within regional commands, and inter-theatre communications capabilities to other nations in several continents.
